I have always loved gardening, the hopeful time of working with the soil and seeds to grow crops, the tending time of weeding a row and finding the carrots, the rewarding time of harvesting and eating a meal totally from my garden.
It started out well for me. I was raised on a multi-generational dairy farm in Minnesota where I was immersed in the beauty, hard work and family life of our agrarian culture. I consider farming an essential and noble way of life.
Now, after many years of farming at Stearns Farm CSA, teaching gardening courses and shepherding a Gardeners Salon, I am grateful to be part of a community of folks who not only enjoy gardening and
